Hair Salone

Colorsalone was shaped through the transformation of a space previously used as a clothing store into a women’s hair salon. The main challenge that defined the project was the insufficient ceiling height of the existing interior. In response, the design approach aimed not only to adapt the space to its new function, but also to balance its volumetric limitations and create an interior that feels more spacious, legible, and cohesive.

One of the key interventions was relocating the existing entrance from the left side to the center, in order to establish a stronger spatial balance. This decision brought a clearer sense of symmetry to the plan and made the user experience more direct and inviting. At the entrance, a portion of the original double-height volume was preserved to make use of its spatial potential. A glass block wall and window opening were introduced to create a semi-transparent threshold. This gesture allows the activity inside to be perceived from the outside, while also defining a separate waiting area for visitors at the entrance. This intermediate zone creates a soft transition between the salon’s public face and its internal production flow.

Within the spatial organization, the washing area was positioned at the center of the salon and became the project’s main focal point. Its central placement ensures equal accessibility from all parts of the space, supporting a more balanced and efficient workflow. At the same time, the Barisol ceiling and integrated lighting design above this area transform it from a purely functional zone into a distinctive architectural feature that defines the character of the interior. Located at the heart of the salon, the washing area takes on the identity of a central core, almost evoking the feeling of a management hub within the production environment.

The use of glass blocks plays a significant role in the overall atmosphere of the project. On the one hand, this material creates a sense of permeability, allowing light and silhouettes to move through the space; on the other, it helps define semi-enclosed areas without fully closing them off. In this way, the project establishes a balanced relationship between openness and privacy, creating a layered spatial experience appropriate for the salon program.

Colorsalone can be read as an interior transformation that takes existing structural constraints as a design driver and redefines the entrance, circulation, waiting, and production areas in order to bring a new sense of balance and identity to the space. The result is a salon environment that is both operationally efficient and experientially inviting, transparent, and distinctive.
